Control of solar energy systems

Program: The seminar will overview why to research in thermosolar plants, the main technologies involved and research and development lines. The knowledge acquired in the grade and master necessary to deal with the modeling and control of these kind of systems will be revised, taking as example a heat exchanger. Then, basic control approaches applied to a flat solar collector will be shown, ranging from PID control, feedforward and feedback linearization control. Extensions to industrial parabolic trough plants are then developed including comments about IMC antiresonance control, adaptive control, predictive control.
