Program: his course will investigate the relevance of gender to understanding technology and the development of new technologies. We will consider a wide range of questions including: Why is the gender dimension important? Why do we need to integrate the gender dimension into R&I content? What role have women played in the development of technology, and how has technological change affected the roles of women and ideas of gender? How does technology offer possibilities for new social relations and how should we evaluate these possibilities? The course will involve multidisciplinary faculty from the Engineering, Art, Law and Economics.
